So, I’ve been on Enbrel since June, which would officially make 6 months… (sigh)… It’s not really working. I have only seen a little improvement. My back is clear, the plaques have reduced, and my skin has stopped itching… But recently it’s starting to flare up again. I was complaining to my husband about it… He said, “Well Alisha, just thank God for the opportunity to use the medicine.”
Although my skin is not clearing up like I expected, I thank God for allowing me to get the medicine. It seemed as if the odds were against me. My insurance said that they would not cover biologic medicines… But some how the doctor got them to do it… I was suppose to try all these different medicines, possibly harmful, before I could get approved for Enbrel, but I didn’t have to do it. There are all these weird side-effects of the medicine, but I haven’t experienced any. I found out my medicine was going to be 960.00 a month even after insurance coverage, BUT I didn’t have to pay it! Not one cent. God is good…
So although Enbrel is not working for me, at least I was given the opportunity! My next step will be trying the natural route. I plan on going to get a allergy test, and well, we’ll go from there. Below is about 3 months worth of medicine.
